Champs Elysées
The Champs Elysées (Elysian fields) were originally nothing but fields, until Marie de Medicis decided in 1616 to put up a long tree-lined pathway. In 1667, Le Notre extended the vista of the Tuileries and the Champs-Elysees became a very fashionable place to walk. In 1724, the avenue was extended up to Chaillot hill, now the site of the Arc de Triomphe and the Etoile. The actual avenue of the Champs-Elysées did not become city property until 1828, when they added footpaths and fountains. They also added gas lighting at this time. Today, the Champs Elysées is one of the most famous streets in the world, with its cinemas, cafés, and luxury specialty shops. This special status made it the site of much growth and activity. At the very heart of Paris, it is one of the most symbolic places in the city, representative of its spirit and glory.
The Avenue Montaigne in Paris
Between the Champs Elysées and the Seine river, in the so called "golden triangle", the Avenue Montaigne is the fanciest avenue of Paris. Arc de Triomphe
Ordered by Napoleon as a memorial to the French Grand Army, the triumphal arch was begun by the architect Chalgrin in 1806 and completed in 1836.The Arc de Triomphe is built on the model of ancient Triumphal Arches, but its monumental size: 50 meters tall and 45 meters wide, is typical of the Empire architecture. This arch offers a great whole of sculptures, the best known is a bas relief of Rude, depicting " the departure of the volunteers in 1792 ", also called the Marseillaise.
Place de la Concorde
Built between 1755 and 1775 by Louis XVth's architect Gabriel,in an octagonal shape, Place de la Concorde was the site of major events including the execution of Louis XVI. It is one of the nicest Paris Square with the obelisk at his center, offered by the viceroy of Egypt in 1831 along with its statues and majestic layout. On one side, the extraordinary perspective of the Champs-Elysées until La Defense. On the others sides: Le Louvre,La Madeleine and Le Palais-Bourbon
Tuileries
The famous Tuileries were originally made for Catherine de Medicis, the widow of Henri IV, in an Italian style. Fortunately they have remained in tact also after the palace was forced to be given to the communards. Don' t miss on seeing these beautiful gardens
Place Vendome
This square is a masterpiece of the classical architecture from the end of the reign of Louis XIV. The Vendome column and the facades of the houses surrounding the square make it one of the most elegant square in Paris. Relieved of the parking area and cars in 1992 by the municipality, it now hosts luxury boutiques and recovered its 18th century charm.

The Eiffel Tower

Pont des Invalides
The pont des Invalides was at the origin, a suspension bridge with only one arch. It was rebuilt under the Second Empire replaced by a five arches' bridge. On the center of the bridge, sculptures represent, on one side, the Terrestrial Victory and, on the other side, the Maritim Victory.
Notre Dame de Paris
Notre-Dame-De-Paris is a masterpiece of French Gothic art which was built between 1163 and 1330 and restaured during the XIXth century by Violet-Le-Duc. Don't miss it.. On the pavement by the west door of Notre-Dame is a spot known as kilometre zero . This is where all of the main road distances in France are calculated.

This beautiful palace is namely famous because of its beautiful gardens. Originally commissioned by the widow of the assasinated Henri V. There also was an entire renovation, done by Chalgrin, the one who later designed the Triomphe Arc. Beautiful paintings to be seen; the paintings of rubens are to be seen in the Louvre.
Museum Of Orsay
The Gare d'Orsay inaugurated for the Universal Exhibition on July 14,1900 was the 1st Parisian train station to have electric power. In 1977,the station became a museum dedicated to the artistic creation of the 2nd half of the 19th century (1848-1914). The interior design was created by Gae Aulenti.
